  • We should wait for the coming of the Lord as we give thanks for grace of salvation.

  • Those who are thankful in any situation show the love of Christ.
  • We should love each other by practicing thanksgiving.
  1. Christians become like Christ through thanksgiving.
  • Disciples of Jesus are those who learn from Jesus and become more like Jesus.
  • We should give thanks everyday just like Jesus.

“ And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” (Colossians3:17)

‘기쁨의 편지’ (빌 1:1-11)

1. 빌립보서는 바울이 로마 감옥에서 마지막으로 쓴 서신입니다.

  • 디모데는 바울이 복음 안에서 낳은 아들인데 중요한 동역자로 성장했습니다.
  • 우리도 복음으로 낳은 / 양육한 자녀가 있기를 바랍니다.
  • 하나님 기뻐하시고 향기롭게 여기시는 헌신이 풍성하기를 바랍니다.

2. 우리 구원을 시작하신 하나님께서 온전히 이루실 줄로 믿으시기 바랍니다.

  • ‘착한’ / ‘선한’ (아가도스) – 보시기에 ‘좋았다’ (토브)
  • 우리는 오직 하나님 은혜로 칭의, 성화, 영화를 이루게 됩니다.
  • 우리 구원은 우리 선택이나 공로가 아니라 하나님의 신실하심에 근거합니다.

3. 바울의 축복기도

  • 그들의 사랑이 참된 지식과 모든 분별 안에 점점 더 풍성하기를 기도합니다.
  • 그리스도의 날까지 진실하고 허물이 없기를 기도합니다.
  • 의의 열매가 가득하여 하나님의 영광과 찬송이 되기를 기도합니다.

 

‘Letter of Joy’ (Phillipians 1:1-11)

1. Philippians was the last letter that Paul wrote from jail.
– Timothy was Paul’s son in Christ and he matured to become an important worker.
– We should also aim to have children in Christ.
– May you have an abundance of dedication that God delights in.

2. We should believe that God will complete His work of salvation in us.
– ‘good’ has the origin of Agados and Tob
– Through God’s grace we are justified, sanctified and glorified.
– Our salvation is not through our own selection or reward but from the faithfulness of God.

3. Paul’s prayer of blessing
– He prays that their love may abound more and more.
– He prays that they will be pure and blameless for the day of Christ.
– He prays they will be filled with the fruit of righteousness for the glory and praise of God.

  1. 쇠사슬에 매인 사신

* 사도 바울은 감옥에서도 늘 전도하여 많은 열매를 맺었다.

* 옥중서신(에베소서, 빌립보서, 골로새서, 빌레몬서)를 기록해 복음을 전했다.

* 어떤 환경에서도 예수님 사랑을 전하는 우리 모두가 되기를 바랍니다.

  1. I ACTS: 경배, 회개, 감사, 간구, 도고의 기도

* 바울은 항상 성령 안에서 모든 기도와 간구를 하도록 권면하다.

* 주 안에서 한 가족이 된 여러 성도를 위해 기도해야 한다.

* 담대히 복음을 전할 수 있도록 목회자들을 위해서도 간구해야 한다.

  1. 두기고 & 마지막 축복

* 두기고는 에베소서, 골로새서, 디모데전서를 전달한 사람이다.

* 그는 사랑받은 형제, 진실한 일꾼, 그리고 마음을 위로하는 사람이었다.

* 바울은 평안과 믿음을 겸한 사랑, 그리고 은혜가 성도들에게 있기를 축복했다.

 

Title: Final requests and blessings (Ephesians 6:18-24)

  1. Ambassador in chains

* Apostle Paul continued to evangelize in prison and bore much fruit.

* He spread the gospel through his prison letters (Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, Philemon)

* We should try to spread the love of Jesus in any situation.

  1. I ACTS: prayer of Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication

* Paul advised to pray in the Spirit for all prayer and requests.

* We should pray for our family in Christ.

* We should also pray for the pastors so they can boldly proclaim the gospel.

  1. Tychicus and final blessings

* Tychicus delivered the letters to Ephesians, Colossians, and 1 Timothy.

* He was a dear brother, faithful servant, and a comforter.

* Paul blessed the believers with peace, love with faith, and grace.

Title: Being rich and pleasing God! (James 5:1 – 6 )

  1. Endeavour to be the rich used by God.

* God achieves His will through the holy rich.

* We should seek wealth to do God’s will.

  1. Help others with God-given wealth.

* God gives us wealth to help others.

* We should help others with our wealth.

  1. Financially support missions and a righteous society.

* God uses the rich for social development and mission work.

* We should use our resources for the expansion of God’s kingdom.

“ His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness! ”

( Matthew 25:21 )
