‘기쁨의 편지’ (빌 1:1-11)

1. 빌립보서는 바울이 로마 감옥에서 마지막으로 쓴 서신입니다.

• 디모데는 바울이 복음 안에서 낳은 아들인데 중요한 동역자로 성장했습니다.
• 우리도 복음으로 낳은 / 양육한 자녀가 있기를 바랍니다.
• 하나님 기뻐하시고 향기롭게 여기시는 헌신이 풍성하기를 바랍니다.

2. 우리 구원을 시작하신 하나님께서 온전히 이루실 줄로 믿으시기 바랍니다.

• ‘착한’ / ‘선한’ (아가도스) – 보시기에 ‘좋았다’ (토브)
• 우리는 오직 하나님 은혜로 칭의, 성화, 영화를 이루게 됩니다.
• 우리 구원은 우리 선택이나 공로가 아니라 하나님의 신실하심에 근거합니다.

3. 바울의 축복기도

• 그들의 사랑이 참된 지식과 모든 분별 안에 점점 더 풍성하기를 기도합니다.
• 그리스도의 날까지 진실하고 허물이 없기를 기도합니다.
• 의의 열매가 가득하여 하나님의 영광과 찬송이 되기를 기도합니다.

‘Letter of Joy’ (Phillipians 1:1-11)

1. Philippians was the last letter that Paul wrote from jail.
– Timothy was Paul’s son in Christ and he matured to become an important worker.
– We should also aim to have children in Christ.
– May you have an abundance of dedication that God delights in.

2. We should believe that God will complete His work of salvation in us.
– ‘good’ has the origin of Agados and Tob
– Through God’s grace we are justified, sanctified and glorified.
– Our salvation is not through our own selection or reward but from the faithfulness of God.

3. Paul’s prayer of blessing
– He prays that their love may abound more and more.
– He prays that they will be pure and blameless for the day of Christ.
– He prays they will be filled with the fruit of righteousness for the glory and praise of God.
