1. 바울의 투옥은 도리어 복음의 전파에 유익한 일이 되었다.

• 여러 형제들이 더욱 담대하게 복음을 전했다.
• 어떤 사람들은 투기와 분쟁, 다툼과 겉치레로 전했다.
• 로마의 권력층까지 복음이 전해지는 계기가 되었다.

2. 바울은 모든 것을 그리스도 중심으로 생각했다.

• 그가 감옥에 갇힌 것도 그리스도의 복음을 위한 것으로 여겼다.
• 자기를 괴롭게 하려고 복음을 전하는 것에도 기쁨으로 반응했다.
• 우리는 모든 것을 예수님 중심으로 해석해야 한다.

3. 바울은 살든지 죽든지 그리스도가 높여지기를 원했다.

• 그는 성도들의 기도와 성령의 도우심으로 출옥할 것으로 생각했다.

1. The imprisonment of Paul was actually beneficial for the spread of the gospel.

• Many brothers proclaimed the gospel more courageously.
• Some people preached out of envy, rivalry, and not sincerely.
• It became an opportunity for the gospel to spread to the ruling class of Rome.

2. Paul thought of everything with Christ at the center.

• He considered his imprisonment as for the gospel of Christ.
• He was joyful even when others preached to stir up trouble for him.
• We should also interpret everything with Jesus at the center.

3. Whether he was alive or dead, Paul wanted Christ to be exalted.

• He thought that he would be released through the prayer of the believers and the help of the Holy Spirit.
• He eagerly expected and hoped that only the Lord may be exalted.
• He confessed that death can also be beneficial because the Lord lives within him.
