1. 바울은 ‘주 안에서 기뻐하라’는 권면을 유언같이 남겼다.

• 이런 말씀은 자기 자신에게 하는 권면과 명령도 된다.
• 내 영혼아 여호와를 찬양하라(시 146:1).
• 내 영혼아 너는 하나님께 소망을 두라(시42:5).

2. 바울은 유대주의자들을 강하게 비난하며 반박했다.

• 개들, 행악하는 자들, 몸을 상해하는 일
• 성령으로 봉사하고, 예수를 자랑하고 육체를 신뢰하지 않는 것이 진정한 할례다.
• 바울은 모든 종교적 배경과 지위를 해로운 것 & 배설물로 여겼다.

3. 바울은 그리스도를 아는 지식이 가장 고상하다고 했다.

• 그리스도와 그 부활의 권능과 고난에 참여함을 알고자 했다.
• 그리스도께 잡힌 바 된 것을 잡으려고 달려갔다.
• 뒤에 있는 것은 잊어버렸다(공로나 실수).

1. Paul left the final words ‘rejoice in the Lord’.

• This is a command for himself as well.
• Praise the Lord, my soul(Psalm 146:1).
• Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him(Psalm 42:5).

2. Paul strongly opposed and criticized Judaistic people.

• Dogs, evildoers, mutilators of the flesh.
• True circumcision is to serve God by His Spirit, boast in Christ Jesus, and put no confidence in the flesh.
• Paul considered all religious background and status to be harmful garbage.

3. Paul spoke of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus.

• He wanted to know the power of His resurrection and participation in His suffering.
• He pressed on the take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of him.
• He forget what was behind.
