제목: 영광의 몸(빌 3:15-21)

1. 바울은 ‘어디까지 이르렀든지 그대로 행하라’고 권면한다.

• ‘온전히 이룬 자’는 ‘장성한 자’로 볼 수 있지만 반어적 표현이다.
• 믿음의 경주도 각자 달란트에 따라 최선을 다하면 칭찬 받는다.
• 함께 경주하는 믿음의 공동체가 주어진 것은 하나님의 은혜다.

2. 바울은 십자가의 원수로 행하는 자들 때문에 울며 권면했다.

• 배를 신으로 섬기고 그 영광이 부끄러움에 있고 땅의 일을 생각하는 자들이다.
• 베드로도 사람의 일을 생각하다 예수님께 사탄이라고 책망 받았다.
• 십자가의 원수같이 행하지 않기 위해 십자가의 주님을 깊이 묵상해야 한다.

3. 바울은 로마 시민권보다 하늘 시민권이 중요하다고 했다.

• 세상 제국은 다 망하지만 주님 나라는 영원하기 때문이다.
• 우리, 가족, 친구, 친척들에게 천국 시민권이 있는지 확인하고 기도해야 한다.
• 그리스도가 다시 오실 때 우리 낮은 몸이 영광의 몸으로 변화될 것이다.

나팔 소리가 나매 죽은 자들이 썩지 아니할 것으로 다시 살아나고 우리도 변화되리라(고전 15:52)

Title: Glorious Body (Philippians 3:15-21)

1. Paul advises ‘Let us live up to what we have already attained’.

• ‘Those who are mature’ is used as an expression of irony.
• We are praised when we try our best in the race of faith.
• It is God’s grace that we have a faith community to race together.

2. Paul was in tears because of those who were enemies of the cross.

• Their god is their stomach, their glory is in their shame, and their mind is set on earthly things.
• Peter was also reprimanded by Jesus because he thought of human things.
• We should deeply meditate on the Lord so that we do not become enemies of the cross.

3. Paul said citizenship of heaven is more important than Roman citizenship.

• Empires of the world will fade but the Lord’s kingdom is eternal.
• We should check and pray that ourselves, our family, and our friends all have citizenship of heaven.
• When Christ returns our lowly bodies will be transformed to glorious bodies.

“For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.” (1 Cor. 15:52)
