1. 바울은 ‘은혜와 평강을 바라는 인사로 그의 여러 글들을 시작한다.

• 은혜는 ‘카리스’인데, ‘대가를 바라지 않고 베푸는 호의’이다.
• 은혜는 ‘기대했던 것과 전혀 다른, 예상치 못한 호의’이다.
• 살인자가 특별사면을 받는 것같이 우리도 ‘구원의 은혜’를 받았다.

2. 예수님이 오신 것은 놀라운 은혜다.

• 아무 공로나 자격 없는 우리 죄 값을 치르기 위해 오셨다.
• 우리는 ‘그 은혜에 의하여 믿음으로 구원을 받았다.’(엡2:8)
• 이것이 믿어지는 것도 놀라운 은혜이다..

3. 하나님이 살아계심을 체험하는 것은 놀라운 은혜다.

• 말씀과 찬양과 기도 가운데 하나님을 만나는 것이 은혜다.
• 여호와의 선하심을 맛보아 알지어다.(시34:8)
• 노예선 선장이었던 죤 뉴톤은 은혜를 체험하고 새 사람이 되었다.

Title: Grace(Colossians 1:1 -2)

1. Paul starts many of his letters with a greeting of grace and peace.

-Grace is ‘chards’ and it is ‘favour without expecting repayment’.

-Grace is ‘unexpected, unanticipated favour’.

-As a murderer receives a special pardon, we have received the ‘grace of salvation’.

2. It is amazing grace that Jesus came.

-We did not earn or deserve it, but Jesus came to pay for our sins.

-We were saved ‘by this grace through faith’ (Ephesians 2:8)

-It is amazing grace to be able to ‘believe’.

 

3. It is amazing grace to experience the living God.

-It is grace to meet God through the Word, praise, and prayer.

-‘Taste and see that the Lord is good’ (Psalm 34:8)

-The slave captain John Newton experienced grace and became a new person.
