1. 때로 하나님의 뜻이 이루어지는데 중요한 역할을 한다.
   • 다윗과 요나단은 사울의 위협에도 불구하고 깊은 우정을 지켰다.
   • 우리는 어떤 관계를 통하여서든지 하나님의 뜻이 이루어지길 기도해야 한다.
2. 우정은 서로 믿으므로 깊어지고, 약속을 지키므로 신뢰를 나타낸다.
   • 다윗과 요나단은 서로 신뢰하였고, 서로 맺은 언약을 지켰다.   
   • 우리는 어떤 관계에서든지 서로 믿고, 약속을 지켜야 한다.
3. 참된 우정은 헤어질 때가 있을지라도 영원하다.  
   • 다윗과 요나단이 어쩔 수 없이 헤어졌어도 그들의 깊은 우정은 변치 않았다.   
   • 우리는 참된 친구이신 예수님께서 영원히 함께 하심을 믿어야 한다.

1. Friendship sometimes plays an important role in fulfilling the will of God. 

• David and Jonathan kept a close relationship despite Saul’s threats.
• We should pray that God’s will is fulfilled through our relationships.

2. Friendship is deepened through trust, which is shown through keeping promises.

• David and Jonathan trusted each other and kept their promises.
• We should trust and keep promises in our relationships.

3. True friendship is eternal even when apart.

• David and Jonathan had to part but their deep friendship did not change.
• We should believe that our true friend Jesus is with us always
